After working my tail off all week, I am so very happy that I finally get to announce the release of two new patterns in my Pattern Shop. Yay!!
So, these two are up and available both on the Pattern Shop on this website and in my Etsy Pattern Shop.
With the Hydrangea pattern, I do have an alternate leaf pattern available in the file. So if you don't want to do the netting around the edges, there's another option included along with the fancy shmancy netted leaves.
For the Lily of the Valley, it's important that I note that the pattern uses smaller sized beads than what most people are used to using. It's the only way to get such small flowers to have any amount of detail. Don't let that scare you from trying it, though! 15/0 beads are not that hard to work with, but after working with them for a while the 11/0 will start to look huge.
Now, the berry tutorial that Suzanne Steffenson and I are working on is almost done. So far we have strawberries, blackberries, blueberries.. and the raspberry section is almost done. There's one more berry technique to document after that and then a fun project. I will be pushing to get that finished this next week, so watch for another update. I'm so excited!!
Feels so good to be able to get stuff done.
Alrighty, I've finally gotten all of my custom orders finished. The last one was for a set of purple Irises. I have never made this many Irises in one year. I've had this design available in my shop forever, but this is the first year that anyone has wanted any. I've been wanting to design a whole new Iris with tons of ruffles and lots of pretty colors and whatnot, but now I'm all Iris'd out so that will have to wait until next year sometime.
I was originally going to be working on Orchid patterns this month, and a custom wedding bouquet next month... but the bride-to-be has moved it to next year after my maternity leave is over... and I'm behind on patterns. So, I have kept my schedule open, and I am using the next month or so to catch up on all the patterns I've been trying so hard to finish. First we've got the Berry Tutorial pack that I'm working on with Suzanne Steffenson. We've been working on perfecting these designs since around January-ish, so we're both very eager to see it finished. Here's a little sneek preview of one of the berries we are including:
Then I'll be finishing up my Hyrdangea and Lily of the Valley patterns. I have the pictures taken for these, just need to get them edited, and then do the write up, so those shouldn't take as long. Hopefully I'll be able to get them all done this month so I can stop feeling like a horrible, terrible, no-good, very bad failure for being late on all of them. Gah.
After those are all (finally) published I'm going to do a couple of personal and new design projects before I work on the Orchid patterns. I've been doing custom orders almost all year, so I'm getting a little antsy to make new designs. Plus, all of my pre-made flowers have been purchased out of my Etsy shop, so it's looking a little bare, and I'd love to get new flowers stocked. So many things I've been dying to do. But, pattern catch-up first. :)
Then I'll be on maternity leave. But, heck yes I will still be beading. My husband has asked me for a beaded Jellyfish. Not a flower, but still possible with French Beading. I'm going to see if I can put a light in it... So, I'll be making one of those for him. It was supposed to be for his birthday last month, but I got behind. Good thing he likes me. Then I'd like to make some Christmas stuff, like some trees and cute little boxes and who knows what else.
Also, we found out that our third child will be a girl. Yay! I don't have one of those yet. It feels a bit weird. I've been a mommy to little boys for so long that I'm trying to wrap my head around GIRL. What do you do with girls? I'm a girl, I should know this. But... I'm going to make something for her nursery. Hopefully something that she'll like well enough that I can give it to her when she's all grown and leaving home. Of course, if I make something for her, my boys will want something for their room too. That's how it works, so I'll have to come up with something a little more boy-ish for them.
Yes, I'd love to get some video tutorials recorded before I have my baby. I'm going to get a new camera for it though. I just can't get the Cannon I have to focus correctly when my hands are moving around. If I move it blurs for a few seconds before it focuses again... so I'm going to get a video camera and hopefully get that to work better.
