I am finally back from vacation! My 5 year old broke his elbow and we get to replace all the tires on my van, but it was otherwise a fun trip. It's been three years since I've seen my parents, so this was the first time they've met my 2 year old. Anyways, I'm home now and I'm jumping right to work.
In my Free Tutorials section you will find a new Technique Tutorial for Simple Ruffles and Fringe. Originally I was going to do one Tutorial for both Simple and Fancy Ruffles that I was going to publish in my Pattern Shop, but I decided that the Simple Ruffle belonged in the Free Tutorials. My Fancy Ruffle Tutorial is separate as it is a more advanced technique. It was inspired by some flowers I've seen around the web. I wanted to be able to make super frilly petals, so I played around until I found a way to do it. Since I've never seen a tutorial for this type of Ruffle I wanted to publish my version so others can learn a little more easily than I did. Those who wish to learn it will be able to find that in my Pattern Shop next week.
Currently I have two beaded flower projects going. One is a sculpture for some Cattelya Orchids featuring a new pattern. I am almost finished with that one, so hopefully I will have pictures sometime next week along with the Fancy Ruffle Tutorial.
The second project is a big one - a Custom Order for a WEDDING BOUQUET!!!! And a boutonniere. I'm pretty dang excited. I will be making three of my Ruffled Roses, Three smaller Peonies, Three Anemones, Two Large Dahlias, Billy Balls, Lavender, Astilbe... yeah it's a big project. I've almost got all the petals for my three ruffled roses. I have over a month to complete it, but it will still be a push to finish.
