This project sure is taking a long time! But I'm nearing the end now, so hopefully it will be done sometime next week.
Here is how my sunflower wall bouquet is coming along. I've made two smaller sunflowers and I remade the mini daisies. The ones I made previously were just too big and when I added them to see what they looked like they overpowered the sunflowers, which was not what I wanted. So I micro-sized them. Still not sure if I like them in the final arrangement though. I might need to play around with the positions and such to make it all work. But I'm getting closer!
Now all I really need is more foliage, which I've already started on. A few more ferns in various sizes, and maybe some branches of smaller leaves or seeded Eucalyptus, along with the large light green leaves that I've already made. Or maybe some long grass-like sprays here and there for fun. Who knows. Don't know if I will do more of the fiddle head ferns or not. But I do need leaves between the flowers I think.
This piece is a symbolic one. Not sure if I mentioned it before but this is something I'm making for my husband. He loves sunflowers. So, the two large sunflowers are me and my husband. The two baby sunflowers are our two little boys. There are 7 mini daisies representing the 7 years we have been married.
Of course, I will have to pause work on this for a few days while I complete a custom order for a Gerbera Daisy Brooch. :) Next week I should (finally) have pictures of my completed Sunflower bouquet and the brooch.
The platform that I use for my patterns (PayHip) has upgraded their coupon options. Before I could only make coupons that worked for one specific pattern. Now I can make one coupon that will work with any pattern, or any number of patterns. So I have made a special one for those who read my blog that will give you 20% off as a thank you for your support and for reading my blog. The code is: BEADER20 (that is a zero, not an O). You can enter that at checkout to receive a discount. It will never expire and can be used every time you buy one of my patterns, so please do make use of it! :)
To make it easier to find, I have copied the code into the sidebar over here...ish >>>
I haven't decided which flower pattern I will do for June, but I at least want to do new technique tutorial for Ruffles and Fringe. We do have a week long family reunion that we will be attending, so that may be the only new PDF I get to make this month just due to lack of time. (My grandma, who is planning the reunion, has drafted me to teach the children how to make beaded animals. I've only ever made lizards and dragonflies with string and those big plastic pony beads, and she was planning on using wire and 4mm beads... so I guess I need to figure out how to make them. I'm assuming the process is similar. Haha, so I might have pictures of some of those too.)
