Hello everybody! Last time I announced the publishing of my French Beaded Calla Lily Pattern. Today I am showing some pictures of a custom order I recently completed, as well as a sneak peek at a large project I'm working on.
My custom order was for three hair pieces. Two alligator clips and a golden comb. All loaded with Swarovski Element Crystals.
Okay, so now for the large project. My husband and I celebrated our 7th Wedding Anniversary this month, and I wanted to make something special to commemorate it. I decided that I really wanted to make something for our wall. So I made this frame. From scratch. Using floral stem wires and floral tape. It was a very complicated process, much more intense than it looks I promise. I made five different drawings, complete with cutting guides and plans for how each wire needed to be bent and placed to make it the way I wanted. That took much more time than I anticipated, and I ended up having to make so many alterations to my original design. Then I had to wrap it all with beads. There are 6 hanks of beads just in the frame. I used two shades of brown, though it may not be easy to tell from the picture. I'm still not quite done with the frame. I need to lace each individual section of the frame to keep all the rows of beads straight and nice looking. Then I need to make something to cover the corners of the inner frame as it proved impossible to wrap with beads nicely. I can't decide whether I want it to be a square or a diamond.
The flowers I'm going with are mainly Sunflowers and Daisies. My first Sunflower is a bit of a mess right now. I sure do hope it will look better once I finish it. Haha. I plan on making two more of those, along with some Daisy buds. Then all the foliage, with some ferns just for kicks. I may also make some blue Delphinium to put in there just for a little pop of color.
So that's where I'm at right now! This project will likely take a few more weeks to finish.
Oh, on a little extra note here. I am also working on the PDF for my French Beaded Southern Magnolia Pattern. Hopefully I will be able to have that available in shop this weekend. :)
